Words From Our Customers

We've received so many wonderful testimonials over the years, and we truly appreciate all of them. Shared below are the most recent ones for your reading enjoyment:

*Bruno
September 2017

I want to share this picture of Bruno now that he is seven years old. He is a wonderful affectionate dog who has accompanied us on many trips including a recent road trip that took us to California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Arkansas. P&B

*Scout
September 2017

Hi Frieda, 14 years ago we brought home “Branko’s Handsome Scout” from you. I just thought you should know that yesterday we had to say goodbye to Scout - he was 14 years old. He grew up with the kids and made our lives very happy. He was a wonderful beagle and we were blessed to have had him for so many years. He will be missed. K&D

*Snowtrax
July 2017

Branko’s Snowtrax on his way to Cyprus. Suffice it to say that persistence in allowing the dog to travel in the cabin paid off. Snowtrax had never been away from home, travelled and behaved like a pro! What a dog.

* * Beatrice
July 2017

Hi! Beatrice is a great beagle! She is 14.5 inches, very fast, always wants to be in front of the pack, and is super patient with our five kids, including our three year old. She's friendly and inquisitive and an all around great dog! Here are a couple of pictures..she's very pretty! Hope all is well! The Anderson family, Pennsylvania

* Casey
July 2017

Hi Frieda, Just wanted to let you know Casey at 13 years of age has passed this past May 13, 2017. I want to thank you. We would not have had the joy we had with Casey if it were not for you raising Beagles. Casey was such a wonderful family member and always a wonderful dog. Gentle, mischievous, loved other dogs, people and such a gentle soul. We will miss him forever. Thank you. Sincerely, Duncan P. Winnipeg, Manitoba

* Kobi
July 2017

Dog KOBI. He loves to go ice fishing he plays with every fish you throw on the ice and then he tries to sneak one away just to play with it, he doesn't try to eat it. He still has to get use to going in the boat, you throw the hook in the water and you can see he wants to go after it but we have to stop him because he still doesn't realize that he can't walk on water. But he does swim. We just don't want him to get hurt. Kobi he is doing great. Teaching him things is going great but sometimes he is too smart for his age. He has many friends. He goes for a lot of walks and loves to play ball and frisbee. When he brings the ball in from playing outside he stands at the top of our stairs looks at you and then looks downstairs and drops the ball on purposely down the stairs. He will not go down our basement stairs to get it he waits for one of us to get it for him. (editorial: Kobi has trained his owners very well….) He is off leash a lot and is learning to stay close, loves camping and is off leash most of the time. We had to give him his own lawn chair for camping otherwise as soon as you got up he was sitting in yours. When we get back home he usually sleeps for a couple of days just to catch up. Bev & Ed & Kobi

* Prairie Rose
July 2017

Hi Frieda. Just got back from Gavin's ( my oldest son) school he did a little project on beagles, and we took Branko's Prairie Rose with us, she was the star of the school, what a kind, gentle, loving dog, the more the kids that crowded around her and pet her the more she loved it! Here's a pic of his project, thought you might like to see it.

* Little Leo and Naya
July 2017

Waiting for the signal they can eat. Leo is proving to be quite a happy, very easy to train pup. He stimulates Naya, and their Mom Helen more than happy with him.

* Louie
March 2017

Hi Frieda and Branko Hope all is going well! Thought I would just send a quick follow up of Louie and hopefully a couple of pictures. Besides the fact that he is such a great dog and we love him like crazy, I think that Louie's hunting instincts are really coming out. He loves to sit on our couch and watch for the rabbits in the front yard. When he see's one, which is many many times a day, he barks and howls and shakes so hard and his mouth starts quivering. Sometimes I think he's going to go right through the window. Many times frank and I would love to let him out the front door after one, but we don't want him getting hit by a car. Daily walks around the neighbourhood have become very difficult to keep him from pulling us, even if there is no rabbit in sight because his eyes and nose keep searching for the rabbits. I'm thinking of getting someone to help me train him to walk nicer around the neighbourhood. He's quite amazing to watch. So different than Oliver. He gets his daily runs at the off leash park and I'm glad that there is nothing there for him to chase except for the other dogs. In fact, many other dog owners are glad to see Louie cause they know that Louie will get their dog running for a good while. He's really a great dog. He's very affectionate and very smart!! We had trained him as a puppy to use the bells to go outside and boy does he use them!! If we don't come right away, he swings and swings those bells like he's pissed off and doesn't stop. He even touches the door knob with his paws to try open the door. The other day, Frank and I were outside with him and he was wanting a toy that was on the patio table. He bounced a couple times and then from a sitting position, jumped up on the table with all fours. We just looked at each other and were so shocked and laughed (of course we corrected him though). I know this was suppose to be quick, but I can't seem to stop talking about him. He seems to amaze us daily!! Thanks for such a great dog!!! And...if we could be put on your list for a puppy for next year, we'd love it and so would Louie. Tamaris Rosenfelt

* * Kobi
March 2017

Hi Frieda We hope this email finds you and Branko in the best of health. Just letting you know we got Kobi s papers. Thank you. He is growing like a bad weed and some days acts like 1 too. LOL . He is a handful and just about forgot how a puppies mind works. He has moments of shear brilliance followed by lots of dumbass. He is learning and has basics down pretty good. Name, sit,come,down,speak(where he even talks back to Bev) and fetches and retrieves very well. But you can tell he is a nerve ending and has that great beagle nose. I have already had him on a couple of rabbits in our back yard and had him almost climbing a tree for a squirrel . He sleeps all night and usually is up at 6 and he does love his food. We picked up 2 big bags in the states a couple of weeks ago and getting 1 more that should be good for awhile. Checked it out here and the 1 place I could find it in Wpg. they wanted $80.00 for a 35 lb. bag. We got it at Menards for $40.00 u.s. Kobi loves travelling and settled into the motor home like it was his own. He has met all of our friends dogs and he needs to be put into his place every once in a while but they do all get along very well. Jack our friends black lab has the most fun with him they chase each other around the yard with Kobi running like a numb nut 100 miles an hour and Jack in close pursuit. We have had him swimming in our friends pool and it s almost comical but the 1 thing he does that Tucker did t do is swim with his mouth closed. Tucker always swallowed half the pool so he didn’t t care for it. So that is where we are so far. The house training is coming along but he does have the occasional accident but he is getting better and he has found his voice. So that is it for now we will keep you posted as how he is coming along. All the best E & B, U, STEINBACH, MANITOBA

* * Heidi
March 2017

Hello Frieda and Branko, Received Heidi's certificate today, thank you very much. All is well here, and Heidi especially is doing very well, she sure enjoys always the walks with us, and loves to explore. She is also very focused when the tv is on, and loves nothing more then to sit with us and watch in the evening especially when it is in German and there is maybe some yodel music on..... we get some good laughs out of her. Also she knows in the meantime very well what a Leckerli (treat) is, and comes almost instantly, so she learns a bit two languages at the same time. Keep cool in this heat !! J and B. Ste. Anne, MB

* Bentley
March 2017

Hi Frieda, I'm writing to brag on Bentley my now 6 year old Branko's Beagle. We starting taking classes in canine scent work 2 years ago. I had to take some time off for having two knee replacements last year. This past weekend, Bentley and I competed for the first time in a National Association of Canine Scent work trial in Austin, Texas. In order to earn a NoseWork 1 Title, the dog must pass four searches all in the same day (interior, exterior, vehicles and containers). I'm so proud to report that Bentley earned his NW1 title AND he placed 1st in interiors (7.9 seconds) and 3rd in exteriors (8.5 seconds) out of 46 dogs competing. I've attached a picture of my cute little guy. Also in the process of purchasing videos taken this weekend. I'll send those when I have them. Hope all is well with you. As always -- thank you for placing this little guy with me. He is such a joy. D. g. TEXAS

* Ace
March 2017

Just wanted to give you an update on Ace, my pup off of Dance x spotless. Ace is doing great!! He definitely likes being the leader of the pack. The thing that probably impresses me the most about him is that I have never seen a beagle bird dog a rabbit as I call it. We will be working through a section of brushy Christmas trees and he will wind one, root around a flush it out. I have never had or seen a beagle that would be able to pin point where a rabbit is bunkered down covered by brush and grass just by moving past the area. He jumped one 3 days ago in a field that had enough visibility he ran the rabbit down and nabbed it before it got out of site. Hope all is well for you guys up there! I will get some pictures for you soon of him. He has a beautiful head on him and I get a lot of compliments on how good looking of a dog he is. Thanks,J.C. PA.

AUGUST 2015

Hello, just wanted to let you know that we have had a fantastic week with our new pup Jesse - he is such a good puppy, we are very lucky to have received him! He has had no trouble adjusting and I think he is very happy with his new home :) We have had no issues with him at all this week, he's happy, playful, eating well and sleeping well. We are pleasantly surprised that he actually sleeps all night, no crying! There was only one night this week that I got up with him in the middle of the night crying (he had to go to the bathroom) - other than that, not a peep at night and no messes in his crate in the mornings. Amazing! Thank you again so much for this wonderful pup - you chose the perfect one for us!

**SANDY
January 2015

Hi, Frieda& Branko, My pup is 14 1/2" tall perfect! Sandy is a wonderful dog. Very sweet and loving pet/hunting dog, can't say enough. She can jump a run her own hare. She runs the line very true, works the check from in side out very tight. She will stay with it till she finds it. She works very hard. I like the way she searches for the rabbit. She has a very tight mouth. If you hear her squeak once she's jumped the rabbit, She won't open up till she is running and moving the rabbit. She has a big load mouth on her when she opens up. She is VERY!! quit in the kennel and the house, She has NEVER! barked not once! Except on rabbit. I've herd her howl like a coyote a few times but that's it. Amazing! Is that normal for her breeding? If I didn't run her on rabbit I would think she was bark less. I am very happy with the way she's built, She has nice tight and tuff feet, very agile quick on her feet uses her front feet all the time. She can run all day and do it the next, it's tuff to ware her out. Her coat is very nice thick and soft. She is very smart! She remembers where she has jumped rabbits in the past, and will head right for them and give them a good look. Very smart all around! Like's to hunt with me. Her nose is very good. I have had her out in -0 temps and she ran fine no problems. She can smell tracks throw 3+ inches of snow if that's were they are. She runs with her nose in the snow, with snow pilled up on her head looking for the rabbit. When the tracks are bared in fresh snow. I have not run her with other dogs yet. I don't belong to club yet or have a running pen she learned all on her own on wild rabbits. I will bring her to some trails this summer. I can't say any thing bad about her, She is a little timid but not bad. She has plenty of confidence around other dogs. For a 8 month old pup I'm happy! I wish I had a few more just like her! Thanks, L.W., PA

*LEXI
October 2014

Hi Frieda, I hope you and Branko are doing well and had a nice summer. Just wanted to update you on our little Lexi. She is doing just great! She is super smart and very affectionate, and has become a beloved member of the family. The kids and I took her to puppy school at the Winnipeg Humane Society. She loves playing with other dogs, and there is a five month old puppy two houses down from us, they get together a few times a week to run around and wrestle in our back yard. Some tricks and commands we have taught Lexi are: sit, wait, leave it, shake a paw, 'bang' (she'll play dead), touch. She is very friendly and loves kids. I brought her to school with me last Friday and she adored meeting all the students. Anyhow, hope you're doing well and thanks again for such a great pup! Anna S.

Bentley
July 2014

Hi Frieda: Sending an update on Bentley. We have been taking classes for what is known here as "musical canine freestyle" -- doggie dancing. Bentley performed for the first time this weekend at the Houston World Series of Dog Shows. The links to three of his four performances are below. It was very difficult for him, given his breed and the need to sniff, but he did an excellent job. This is a huge event in Houston with thousands of spectators, dogs, food, and distractions. I'm so proud of this little guy. He is so cute and smart, I can hardly stand it. As always -- thanks for giving me this great little guy. He is such a joy.

Snoopy
July 2014

I received the CKC papers yesterday in the mail; thank-you. Here’s an update on our boy; he loves running around the yard and has a love of balls. He will chase after them and in his funny way tumble over it and almost do a complete somersault...I think he is funny sometimes. He even chases a old dried out leaf and pounces on it in a playful way and runs back, only to pounce again. We have just started walking him and he is doing well on his leash; and very friendly and happy to meet other dogs and people. Just last weekend, we took him to my family’s cabin in NW Ontario. The kids had finished swimming off the dock and it was hot that day. I was curious to see how Snoopy was with the water.... He swam off the dock and did a little U-turn and swam back...he was an excellent swimmer. I couldn’t believe how fast he was! I will send more pictures later. Hope you are both doing well and enjoying the weather.

Hi Frieda, It has been awhile, today is Darby's 3rd birthday. Branko's Put Your Dukes Up, he came out of Whitebirch Prettygirl Angie and One Tuff Ombré. I just wanted to keep in touch and thank you for such an excellent beagle. Darby is a ferocious rabbit hunter, very intelligent and obedient, a great athlete. This dog will never ever quit, this season he seemed to get hotter and hotter each and every hunt. Everyone that hunts with him is thrilled to have the opportunity. I can only imagine how well he will do at age 5 or 6. Attached are a couple pictures from this hunting season.

Hi Frieda, Just want to thank you for being such a pleasure to work with!! Your attention to customer service is second to none. I couldn't be happier with the pup you picked out for me, he is a very smart little dog. He was a little home sick at first, but it didn't take too long for him to adjust to his new home and new playmate. He now has a big brother to teach him the ropes. The do's and don'ts around here, and he is a good little student, learns things very quickly! His new name is "Stitts Snow Hill Slick" or "Slick for short.

Just wanted to give you an update on our Dexter. He’s doing great and growing up fast. It’s amazing how big he has gotten compared to the day we brought him home. He’s got lots of energy and is very social. He loves kids and all people really. He has some dog cousins that he gets to visit as well. That’s always fun. Now he’s just over 4 months old. He just got his rabies shot last week and is proudly wearing his new collar tag. Here’s a few pictures of our happy pup for you and Branko, including his first trip to the lake and his first time swimming! We hope both of you are keeping well. Bye for now.

He is a fantistic companion, and hunter. He certainly is a very good fit for our family. I hope in November when we go to Pennsylvania, my 88 year old father will be able to shoot a bunny off of Sam. This will be our 52nd year of hunting together.

Ruger and DieselRuger and DieselRuger and Diesel
Dec 2012

They both have beautiful voices, Deisel has a bawl/squall and Ruger has a hard chop. Both use their mouth correctly. I have watched a bunny make a short loop then run back on the same line it just ran minutes earlier and watch the pups hit that point,(slow down with fresh tracks going both directions), and walk down the line without barking until they hit the point the rabbit left and when they are sure they have the bunny , then open and continue the race. Both are capable of pushing a rabbit until it holes, pick up checks, and jump their own rabbits. I am still amazed at how easy they both were to start and at how well they are doing at this young age.

I am very excited at the prospect of having a new Branko Beagle in my household. I have attached a copy of Boz's AKC tree and two pictures in case you are interested -- he had all the greats in him -- Ali-Baba, Copper Boy, Jack of All Trades, and Heli-Prop.

He has developed into a wonderful companion: bright, gentle, affectionate, and obedient with a little bit of the precocious nature that makes Beagles so loveable. He has truly become a member of the family and we love him.

EagleEagle
Nov 2010

I have entered Eagle in 4 trials now. He has won the show every time! One of them being a world qualifier. He is also winning his casts but never gets plus points. He always has 0 or a few minus points. Everywhere we've ran has been bone dry and all the other dogs completely minus out within an hour leaving eagle a full hour to hunt himself but every time he strikes one up he runs out of time and just breaks even.

This is a picture of her first rabbit and she's got many since then. I also through in a picture of the moose that I killed this year. Hope you and Branko are doing well,keep up the good breeding work!

We continue to be impressed with Kate's hunting abilities. She has a strong drive to hunt & is doing it all by herself. She is proving to be a very intelligent dog, already learning hand signals & basic commands. The first rabbit Kate ran was circled shot. After a couple weeks of running, Kate continually checks spots where she had previously jumped rabbits.

Oh my God, I have an amazing doggie. I had let you know, she is in canine good citizen, she has to heel, sit stay for 5 minutes, without a leash, down stay, stand stay. I seem to be able to teach her anything, she loves to learn, she is my life, and I want her to be all that she can be.

Being the proud beagle dad that I am... I could hardly pick out just one photo of Hunter to send you. But, this one has to be one of the cutest beagle photos of all time. He could be on a beagle calendar.

Frieda, the pup in the pic is Branko's Brute Force Boe (Tuffy x Maya) at 10 months old. We killed two hare with him in an hour, it was only 10 degrees and two feet of snow! He circled both hare to the gun in that deep snow! Great breeding, I can't wait for my next pup in the Spring!

Went out rabbit hunting at the new "secret spot" in Rochester on Friday. I think we hit the mother load. This is the same general area where we couldn't get one rabbit a few days ago. Go figure! We got our beagle, Niki, from you in May of last year. She is out of Branko's Casey and Brankos Wicked Witch 2. Niki is a rabbit hunting machine and wonderful family pet!

BenderBender
May 2009

Bender is such a bright puppy, he already knows sit, (lay) down, roll over, and go through. I took him to see his first helicopter take off three days ago and he just sat there ~ 50 meters away from the chopper throughout the takeoff, it was wonderful.

Beagle Pups For Sale

We do not always have pups for sale, particularly not during our Winter months. Here in Manitoba, it is not unusual to have temperatures 40 below (Fahrenheit and Celsius) for 2-3 week stretches. Our pups are mostly ready to go to their new environments starting in the Spring, through till about July.
